Sustainable Development and Business Integrity Forum

Transparency International Bulgaria and Ministry of Economy and Industry of the Republic of Bulgaria organize a forum for policies and practical decisions on 15th of May 2024.

The forum will emphasize the implementation of aspects of business integrity based on international standards and good practices, placing it in the context of the global framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the European regulatory framework for sustainability reporting.

We will put specific focus on the recommendations and guidelines from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, as well as to Bulgaria's progress in implementing the national strategic framework in the process of joining the organization.

The panel discussions and interactive sessions will facilitate the sharing of experience and good practices and encourage dialogue on the implementation of anti-corruption policies and tools to increase transparency and accountability of businesses, discourse on the importance of ESG standards and the new European regulations on sustainability reporting as well as the challenges and opportunities in their implementation.

The forum will be attended by Mr. François Valerian, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Transparency International. Francois has extensive experience in anti-corruption topics such as illicit financial flows, political integrity and strategic court cases. As Head of Business Integrity Programs at Transparency International's secretariat, he initiated the organization's advocacy at the G20 meeting around financial regulation and fight against corruption.

National and international experts, representatives from the executive power, business, the non-governmental sector and the academic community are invited to the event.
