Regulatory authorities play a critical role in ensuring the rule of law, protecting consumers, and fostering a fair competitive environment. However, the prolonged governance of regulators with expired mandates raises serious concerns about their legitimacy, independence, and effectiveness. Participants in the meeting will discuss the risks associated with such situations, as well as the necessary reforms for a more transparent and timely process for renewing the leadership of regulatory bodies.
